We have coordinated and provided programming and advance planning analysis services on numerous projects. We are familiar with virtually all aspects from which a project can be examined and assessed. In order to achieve success during the information gathering phase, it is first necessary to listen and document accordingly. Programming systems are then tailored to correspond with the project type. We have dealt with a wide range of project types from extremely sensitive, environmentally fragile installations to those having a significant impact on ongoing operations.

Pre-Devlopment Coordination

  • User Questionnaire review.

The principals and staff have been involved in commercial projects for over twenty years. As a result, we are able to bring to each project a vast range of knowledge to meet the growing demands of up-to-date design and facility requirements. We understand the importance of accurate and expeditious design and planning to achieve a client's needs and desires. During the pre-development phase, it is our firm's responsibility to provide technically and programmatically sound options for development of the design. Having fulfilled this responsibility on all of our projects, it is our opinion that all options must be viable and readily understood. We believe that all options presented should have preliminary cost estimates to assist in making the most informed choice of design direction.

Facility Development

  • Submittal of final design package with associated costs.
  • Construction documentation for client and architect.
  • Specifications for furnishings and equipment.
  • Obtain final approvals from client.
  • Preparation of cross-referenced budget, drawings, and bid packages for furnishings and equipment.
  • Provide in duplicate complete design/bid package when needed.

Our Resource Library is the largest and most extensive commercial interior design library in the State of Virginia. As a design firm and furniture dealer, we are current on all manufacturers price increases and freight charges which in turn enables us to provide accurate budgets and the most up-to-date and competitive product information available on the market. Each project will uniquely reflect the best value for dollars spent. MGA feels that the long-term success of each project is measured by the quality of the sources available.

Contract Administration

  • Development of signage, way finding and graphic design programs.
  • Construction and F,F&E installation scheduling.
  • Site review and inspection reporting.
  • Administration of construction and installation disputes.
  • Administration of punch list with follow-up.

We are acutely aware of the importance of close communication and concise planning of each phase from the conceptual stage through the final punch list and follow-up. In the private sector we are involved in full turnkey design and planning. Therefore, we are knowledgeable of the scheduling and co-ordination of general and sub-contractors throughout the construction phase and are familiar with how to achieve the best final results. This experience also provides the understanding of what is to be expected of government and/or institutional subcontractors.

We have provided masterplanning and long range planning studies for various clients to guide the client through a 5 - 10 - 15 - 20 year expansion or re-organizational program. The economic value of such planning enables the client to spend their dollars wisely now and in the future. In addition, we have finished models and interior perspective renderings for clear illustration of project plans and design concept for user groups. Appropriate product design and research is critical to the effectiveness of any project. We have coordinated client visits to project or factory sites to examine the physical properties of actual materials for evaluation and approval.
